Senior Training Manager ANZ

Overview

 

The mission for the Senior Manager, Training ANZ is to collaborate with the Head of HR and Education and Head of Retail to create, lead and deliver the retail education strategy and training initiatives for Sephora ANZ. Considering regional and retail training needs, you will develop and deliver innovative and contemporary education initiatives and programmes which enable the Australasian organisation to meet its business objectives via a skilled and engaged retail workforce.

 

You will partner with the retail team to advocate to the regional education team on the development of training initiatives, pathways and programs that meet the development needs of the ANZ market. You will then be the market lead for the roll out of any global or regional programs.

 

For needs regional cannot meet, you will take ownership of the development, delivery and deployment of retail education initiatives from budget creation through to embedding.

 

Reporting to the Head of HR and Education with you will lead a team of field trainers supporting a wider dynamic education team. Success in this role will require strong partnership and alignment with Retail and regional teams.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

Strategy and program development,

  • In consideration of the ANZ overall strategy as well as the regional support/initiatives the Senior Manager, Training’s role is to determine the Education strategy priorities in collaboration with the Head of Retail and Head of HR and Education. From there you will lead the development, delivery, embedding and evaluation of a variety of training plans and programs to deliver the agreed education strategy for the wider ANZ retail teams.
  • The Senior Manager, Training will need to stay abreast of client and industry trends, internal communications and projects, and work with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency across the Sephora business on any education program.
  • Advocate to regional education on the needs and priorities of ANZ to influence the development of regional content, learning pathways and programs, such as animations, specialist role training, leadership development, to meet local needs and leverage regional resources.
  • Develop local ever green creative training assets along with core and seasonal training programs to fill any gaps that are not met by regional education support.
  • As needed, partner with other departments to align on educational deliverables within their projects and then ensure they are integrated into future education programs, such as innovations, new categories etc.
  • Work with the Head of HR and Education and Head of Retail to the develop and then manage the annual training budget and hours required to deliver our objectives.
  • Partner with the Head of HR and Education, and wider Education team on the evolution of the training teams structure and resource requirements to support a growing network

 

Training and Coaching

  • Managing the deployment of training objectives and the transfer of learning with field training team members. Coach and develop Field Training Executives to deliver best in class training programs and field coaching. Adopt a commercial and client centred approach to training content and collaborating with the internal and external stakeholders to ensure Sephora business needs are met.
  • Lead the field training team to utilise monthly reports and/or system reports to complete any local, regional or global reporting requirements
  • As needed provide input into support office development plans/initiatives as led by the Head of HR and Education to ensure consistency in learning/language, frameworks etc between retail and head office.

 

Organisation and Planning

  • Be the key contact for all regional education and training initiatives, other than those that are brand or Sephora Collection related. However, you will need to maintain close knowledge of brands, assortment and happenings, especially Sephora Collection.
  • Cascade and communicate to applicable stakeholders any key regional projects/initiatives

 

Management / Reporting Line

  • Managing a growing Australian Field training team
  • Reports to the Head of HR and Education

 

Key competencies

  • Min. 10 years of experience within a training function, ideally in retail, beauty or in an environment with many brands
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Beauty experience highly desirable
  • Client and commercial centric mind set
  • Entrepreneurial and able to work in a fast-paced environment with numerous stakeholders
  • Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
  • Hands-on and solution-oriented with the ability to manage and lead others to do the same
  • Excellent communication skills (Verbal, Written Email)
  • Strong interpersonal skills (listening, negotiation, influencing)
