Your role at Sephora:

As an Art Director, you’ll be supporting Senior Art Director in building Sephora brand, and concept development/execution of marketing campaigns and programs, from concept to execution across media, that supports overall Sephora business goals. Reporting to the Senior Art Director, you will play a key role in bringing branding and campaign initiatives to successful fruition. In addition, you will: 

  • Partner with Senior Art Director to develop and build strong brand. Support in brand management and execution to ensure consistency across brand through all channels. Develops visual design standards for brand and its sub programs.
  • Partner with Senior Art Director to develop strategic marketing campaign concepts. Understand both marketing and creative needs to provide creative solutions that meet business objectives. Drives integration of art direction and design across all channels including, but not limited to: 360 animations (store, dot com, app, email, paid & organic social, print & digital OOH, print & digital ads), CBG design, print & digital collateral/DMs, in-store graphics and event materials. Develop visual design standards for brand animations and sub program campaigns.
  • Partner closely with Editorial and Visual Merchandising teams to develop creative concepts for robust 360 client experience. Partners with Content Production to align on appropriate talent to ensure accurate execution of creative vision: including but not limited to photography, retouching, illustration, typography, and video development.
  • Build relationships with cross-functional partners to ensure strategic objectives are met. Collaborate with various cross-functional teams including Marketing, Merchandising, Store Operations, Program Management, Procurement and Loyalty.  
  • Partners with outside agency and vendors including: production agencies, UI/UX agencies, and video vendors. Be their thought partners and provide brand guidance.
  • Actively work with junior members of the team to make sure that all executions are of the highest quality and adheres to the brand. Educates team in creative expertise and knowledge including art direction, photography, design, typography, print & digital production.
  • Represents creative team in a variety of settings: large/small groups, direct reports, managers, formal presentations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of creative experience, especially in omni channel, multi-brand retails, beauty/fashion industry.
  • College degree; BA or BFA preferred in Graphic Design or Communication Design.
  • Passion for design and art direction
  • Understanding of design, typography, photography, layout principles, and production process.
  • Understanding of current industry related trends.
  • Fluent understanding of current digital trends and social landscape.
  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe programs: Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop are must, After Effects (video editing tool) is a plus.
  • Ability to produce high level art direction/inspiration presentation that are appropriate for omni (in-store/digital) channels.
  • Solid organizational skills, detail-oriented. Capable of working on multiple projects concurrently in a very fast paced environment, ensuring that deliverables are achieved on time, on brand creative quality.
  • Strong relationship-building skills. Ability to work with a variety of people in various disciplines. Enjoys working with others and collaborating with positive attitude.
  • Exceptional communication & presentation skills, both written and verbal.
