Finance Manager (Maternity Cover)

The Finance Team are responsible for delivering all finance and accounts services for the business in a timely, effective and accurate manner. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in monthly finance tasks but also being involved in finance projects within the business.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Support in the month end close and production of monthly management accounts for the business
  • Ensure all key month end postings are carried out on an accurate and timely basis
  • Liaise with key budget holders in the business (business partnering) to ensure all costs are recognised correctly in the management accounts
  • Ensure that all cost variances to Budget and Forecast are investigated and understood
  • Ensure that key Balance Sheet accounts are understood and properly reflect the business operations – such as voucher provisions, stock, stock provisions, deferred income
  • Prepare monthly cost centre reports and other ad hoc reports for key business managers and assist them with understanding of their reports and with day to day budgetary control
  • Carry out ad hoc analysis of financial performance as needed
  • Liaise with external tax specialists to ensure R&D and capital allowance claims are submitted accurately and timely, providing them with the information required
  • Oversee the treasury function including 1 direct report - finance assistant (treasury) – to ensure cash is managed and forecast accurately, including all group reporting, fund requests, and bank and cash reconciliations
  • Work with the tech team to ensure accurate accounting for the new loyalty program
  • Support the Finance Director and CFO with the financial management of the Group as needed.

 

Skills / Qualifications: 

 

  • ACCA/ACA qualified.
  • Experience of preparing management accounts including key account reconciliations and cost variance analysis preferrable.
  • Treasury experience preferable.
  • Strong all round computer skills with intermediate or advanced excel skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage workload independently.
