Retail Operations & Efficiency Manager

Overview: 

 

As the Retail Operations & Efficiency Manager of Sephora UK, reporting to the Retail Director, you will play a significant role in the operational efficiency, and consistency of our retail stores across the country. They will also play a critical role in our retail expansion as we open new stores and ensure that quickly and efficiently we onboard them into our best practice ways of working.

 

You will design implement and review SOPs, identify and transfer best practices, and generally support the retail team delivering best in class experiences in stores through managing all operational aspects in store (audit, maintenance, contractors, service providers, policies, SOP, stock management). This role is an office based role, but significant time will be spent in stores all across the UK. 

 

What You Will Do:

 

Coordinate Store Projects

  • You will liaise with different functions within the organization to monitor and ensure timely completion of store projects for existing stores. Your coordination skills will be crucial in overseeing project milestones, ensuring efficient resource allocation, and managing project, and stakeholder, timelines.

Project Management - New Store Openings

  • You will work with the Retail Director to project manage our new store openings, ensuring that all components of the expansion requirements are considered. You will engage with stakeholders to obtain updates, lead PMO meetings and escalate any issues as appropriate to the relevant party.

Manage Store Service Providers

  • You will assume responsibility for managing and providing feedback on store service providers, such as maintenance, cleaning, and security. You will closely monitor their performance to ensure store quality, security, and adherence to company standards. Where standards are not being met, you will be accountable for prompt management of these matters.

Budget Management

  • You will be accountable for cost management and execution for various projects, store expenses (uniform and supplies), security and quality, expenses, and payments.

Optimize Store Processes

  • You will take ownership of existing store processes and identify areas for improvement by working with the instore management teams. You will leading the way towards the digitalization of our store processes.

Ensure Adherence to SOPs

  • You will be responsible for maintaining and enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all of our UK retail locations. This will require you to regularly update and communicate SOPs to store teams to ensure consistent processes and exceptional customer experiences are achieved.

Drive Team Efficiencies

  • You will collaborate with store teams to identify training needs, provide guidance on process improvements, and conduct training to enhance team efficiencies. Your ability to motivate and inspire teams will contribute to their professional development and overall performance.

 

What You Will Bring:

 

  • Proven experience in retail operations management, preferably in a multi-store environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience in project management, managing and delivering complex projects within the retail and hospitality. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Familiarity with retail processes, standards, and best practices.

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and other relevant software applications
