The Opportunity:
As a Sourcing Manager of Store Development – Construction & Maintenance, you will be responsible for developing strong and effective business partner relationships and providing strategic sourcing support to Sephora at an enterprise level and to the Sephora Store Development and Preservation business units. The successful candidate will generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Store Development you will leverage your experience to deliver significant value to key stakeholders by managing the end-to-end strategic sourcing process, process compliance, executing on Sephora goals in diversity, risk and sustainability.
Your core category responsibilities will include but are not limited to Construction Services and Equipment, and Store Maintenance and Preservation relating to the Store Experience with the goal of supporting new and remodeled stores and driving savings through market-driven strategies and negotiations, incorporating Sustainability, Supplier Diversity, and Supplier Risk goals.
In addition, you will:
- Develop strong relationships with and be recognized as a valued partner by Store Development and Store Preservation stakeholders to influence business decisions
- Partner with Senior Manager and key stakeholders to influence the strategic sourcing pipeline with well-defined cost savings and avoidance targets
- Achieve year-over-year improvements in Construction Services, Equipment, and Maintenance without sacrificing quality and service
- Conduct all phases and support Senior Manager in the development of contracts from requirement to final contract, including gathering & reviewing requirements, executing a structured sourcing process (request for information (RFI), and request for proposal (RFP) development, scorecarding and supplier selection documentation) while leveraging the Center of Excellence (COE) model and processes for agility and velocity
- Partner with stakeholders to understand and support department procurement requirements to support business objectives. Establish a sourcing roadmap, build collaborative category strategies and execute strategic sourcing plans to proactively support business needs.
- Negotiate with suppliers to optimize Sephora’s position and partner with a broad mix of stakeholders on contract evaluation, redlining and final negotiation, such as Technology, Legal, Privacy, Information Security, and Internal Controls
- Collaborate with Senior Manager to continually improve supplier performance by setting measurable, contractual performance targets and related supplier performance management
- Stay abreast of changes in the market and supplier overall health. Consider emerging business models and suppliers and evaluate and address any impact of changes in supplier status (e.g, via acquisition)
- Build an execute a plan to identify and evaluate diverse suppliers, to increase the percentage of Sephora's category spend with diverse suppliers and support efforts to further Sephora’s sustainability goals
- Provide thought leadership and support to ad hoc projects optimizing Strategic Sourcing's effectiveness, for example, by proposing and implementing process improvements
- Strategize with Senior Manager across categories/departments to identify opportunities for gained efficiencies and cost-effectiveness in supplier negotiations
- Develop should-cost models, scenario analysis, and benchmarking to optimize value across requirements
- Build project plans and timelines to ensure key milestones are being captured and met as it relates to the sourcing process
- Successfully complete sourcing projects on time, managing all aspects of the process including but not limited to security, privacy and financial review for value, along with final document retention in our contracts lifecycle management system
- Effectively communicate status updates to key stakeholders, including timely identification and escalation/resolution of issues
- Demonstrate Sephora values in all interactions, internally and externally
We’re excited about you if you have:
- 5+ years of strategic sourcing experience, with strong expertise in store development, maintenance and construction services and equipment in a multi-national retail corporation
- Experience in negotiating enterprise agreements typical of your assigned category, for example, master services agreements, and statements of work, among others
- Experience developing relationships and gaining buy-in with key stakeholders on category strategies, multi-year sourcing plans, supplier relationship management, continuous improvement plans, ‘should-cost’ models, and negotiation strategies
- A proven track record of cost reduction and productivity improvements; ability to influence and drive change while building solid relationships with your internal clients and external suppliers
- Excellent project and timeline management skills to manage sourcing projects end-to-end, from project intake, onboarding to project closure, operationalization, and governance
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Skilled negotiator with a current understanding of various contract models and on-market terms
- Ability to successfully influence both internal and external partners and interface with senior-level stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and interpersonal
- Advanced analytics, excel, presentation, data visualization, and Sourcing tools skills (required)
- Hands-on user of various software tools critical to strategic sourcing: employee collaboration and productivity tools, procure-to-pay and vendor management solutions, e-RFX, sourcing pipeline and savings reporting, and contract lifecycle management, as examples
- Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Operations
The annual base salary range for this position is $107,000.00 - $143,000.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
