Your role at Sephora:
As a Senior Accountant reporting to the Director of Accounting Systems, you will be directly involved with process and system improvements as well as supporting day to day merchandise payables and inventory processes. 

 

In addition, you will: 

  • Ensure accuracy of data
  • Work with the offshore team to respond to vendor inquiries
  • Work with vendors regarding issues related to invoices and/or payments
  • Help manage general MAP email inbox to ensure response times and KPIs are met in a timely manner
  • Assist with special projects and accounting research as necessary

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for working with internal business partners within multiple departments (Distribution centers, Planning and Merchandising) on resolving payment discrepancy disputes from vendors
  • Address vendor/payment inquires within mailbox in a timely manner
  • Attend weekly calls with Offshore team
  • Analyze and track KPIs for vendor disputes for management updates
  • Assist with global ERP implementation project; identifying areas of improvement within Merchandise Payables
  • Prepare month-end journal entries, reporting and analytics for accruals and P&L/margin review
  • Analyze and prepare reporting to review with Merchandising team for promotions/markdowns
  • Assist as backup for payment proposals
  • Assist with special projects related to inventory/merchandise as needed

 

 

 POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Business/Finance strongly preferred
  • Basic knowledge of GAAP
  • 5+ years of accounts/merchandise payable experience, preferably in a fast-paced, Retail environment
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table) and working with large/complex data sets.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills - able to work effectively as a team member and with vendors and business partners.
  • Ability to pick up responsibilities quickly and work with limited direction
  • Exposure and proficiency with SAP desirable, aptitude for systems is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills, attentive to detail, and ability to multitask
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The annual base salary range for this position is $111,000.00 - $124,000.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.  Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.  Sephora offers a generous benefits package to full-time employees, which includes comprehensive health, dental and vision plans; a superior 401(k) plan, various paid time off programs; employee discount/perks; life insurance; disability insurance; flexible spending accounts; and an employee referral bonus program.
