Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Compliance & Analytics, the Compliance Analyst will provide support for new initiatives related to Human Resources compliance programs, including researching, tracking and reporting on current federal, state and local employment legislation and developing processes to ensure compliance with applicable employment laws. The individual will also provide operational support for existing programs, such as immigration, contingent workforce, I9 and background check compliance. The ideal candidate is process/detail-oriented and skilled at partnering with various individuals at all levels within the organization.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Primarily supports the Contingent Workforce Program Manager and the HR Specialist with the following:
    • Compliance related to the Sephora’s contingent workforce program;
    • Form I9 compliance;
    • Background checks; and
    • Immigration administration support
  • Keep up with legal changes impacting existing compliance programs and partners with our internal Legal and HR teams;
  • Assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; reviews, interprets and recommends policies. Provides policy interpretation and guidance to both field and corporate business partners;
  • Monitor and audit HR policy exceptions or issues;
  • Assists in maintaining employee handbook and policies and procedures manual; 
  • Develop and deliver internal training and compliance bulletins to ensure consistency in the application of HR policies, procedures and practices across the organization
  • Assists the HR reporting team in EEOC and Bureau of Labor Statistics filings;
  • Assists other departments within the HR Shared Services department with all compliance-related issues (ie. Benefits); and 
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of current federal, state and local statutes including but not limited to EEOC, affirmative action, FMLA, FLSA and immigration regulations and guidelines; 
  • Ability to plan and carry out responsibilities with general supervision;
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and HR experience
  • One year direct experience with completing, reviewing and auditing the Form I9;
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook);
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Detail and service-oriented and ability to interact with multiple individuals of all levels within the company;
  • Strong ability to handle sensitive matters diplomatically, tactfully and with utmost discretion; and
  • Proven ability to deal effectively with ambiguity
