Your role at Sephora:

Reporting to the VP, Inventory Planning, .com, this role is responsible for analyzing Operational Margin for multiple channels and categories and supporting Inventory Planning Leaders in communication to Finance and Operating Committee. In addition, you will have the following responsibilities: 

  • Analyze and provide guidance for company Reforecasts, Budget, and Strat Plan passes. Partner with Inventory Planning Leaders and Finance to prepare presentation to Operating Committee
  • Analyze Operational Margin for Monthly Open-to-Buy (OTB) meeting and communicate findings and actions needed to Inventory Planning Leads
  • Analyze Operational Margin for Monthly Close and partner with Inventory Planning Leaders and Finance to prepare presentation to Operating Committee
  • Analyze and reforecast Operational Margin mid-month with Finance to send to Global. Analyze and bridge for Monthly Close
  • Design, Create, and Maintain Promotional Sales Margin Analysis Tool to help analyze Operational Margin based on Promotional Event. Translate Promo Event forecast to Brand/Channel level for OTB system
  • Continuous training to Inventory Planning team on Margin and Margin Analysis
  • Full analysis on Allocated Costs and forecast go forward. Partner with Merchandise Accounts Payable to reconcile any discrepancies
  • Additional Ad Hoc Operational Margin Analysis on and not limited to:
    • Vivabox Redemptions
    • Merchant Promos
    • Markdown repayments

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Merchandise Planning, related field or relevant experience  
  • Minimum 7-10 years of related business experience, ideally with proven experience in forecasting, budgeting, and monthly close activities
  • Advanced expertise with Excel applications
  • Dynamic, independent, creative and highly motivated person who works well as a team member with non-financial personnel and is comfortable working with senior level management
  • Thrives on an environment that is fast-paced, rapidly changing, and customer service-oriented
  • Contributes new ideas and finds solutions to business challenges
  • Proven ability to interpret and synthesize data into intelligent business decisions
  • Must be detail-oriented, with strong organizational and task management skills
  • Clear and concise written, verbal, and presentation skills
