Position Title:  Operations Supervisor, 2nd Shift

Department:   Inbound/Outbound/Dotcom/Inventory Control

Function:         Operations/Inventory Control

Reports To:    Operations Manager

FLSA Status:  Exempt

 

Summary:

The Operations Supervisor, 2nd shift, is accountable for the day-to-day operation of a department within the Distribution Center.  The emphasis is on effectively planning work in order to meet established timelines and effective supervision of associates to achieve critical operational goals in the areas of productivity, quality, safety, and housekeeping.  This position is responsible for maintaining a strong sense of collaboration and teamwork and for developing positive and productive work relationships.
 

Essential Functions of Job:

  • Identify and prioritize those tasks which need to be accomplished in order to meet daily business goals and to successfully prepare the incoming shift for a quick and effective transition and start-up.
  • Actively work to promote positive and healthy labor relations.
  • Identify, install, and measure specific improvements to methods, processes, and planning activities in order to boost productivity, improve service, improve cost control, support safe working practices, and reduce damages.
  • Enforce the consistent application of all Company and Distribution Center policies and procedures.
  • Provide effective daily supervision of warehouse and temporary service personnel to ensure efficient operation, maintain an active presence on the work floor.
  • Prepare various management, productivity, and financial analysis reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure that all employees are qualified and trained to perform their job functions to the expected standards.
  • Analyze the daily/weekly/monthly business conditions, requirements and prioritize and determine picking and shipping priorities, as well as labor hours/staff necessary to meet these forecasts.
  • Follow all Company, state and OSHA safety rules, policies and regulations to ensure safe working practices, including proper work attire; report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.
  • Comply with all Company Loss Prevention policies and procedures, including proper work attire.
  • Maintain excellent attendance as set by Sephora company policy.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule and adhere to the requirement of working any designated shift and overtime as requested per business and operational needs.
  • Provide high quality internal and external customer service per company standards.
  • Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Non-exempt associates within assigned department.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Moderate but varying temperature and humidity in office and warehouse environments.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand, sit, squat, lift and/or walk for duration of scheduled shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • College degree in a logistics related field, or three to five years relevant work experience.
  • Previous experience in working with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and/or ability to quickly develop a proficiency in such systems.  Knowledge in “Red Prairie” WMS preferred.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
