Your role at Sephora...
As a Senior Software Engineer you will design, develop, upgrade and support applications that will enhance the overall omni- channel experience of our end users and systems that consume our services (Checkout and Payments). Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will work closely with extremely talented peers, engineers from cross functional teams, leads and architects to understand and brainstorm on omni-channel solutions and design patterns required to solve a specific problem at hand. Responsibilities:
- Technical design, development and delivery of complex features and enhancement of omni channel Payment and checkout APIs.
- Develop secure and high-quality production code, and actively participate in code review and test solutions to ensure it meets best practice specifications
- Drive conversations with offshore team and able to assign the tasks and review the completeness of those tasks
- Work across entire tech stack from enterprise applications services to data base
- Collaborate with cross functional teams in the interest of project progress – Architects, Devops, Network team, Project Managers, Product managers, Quality Assurance, Performance Engineering, Technical leads.
- Contribute to the overall system design, architecture, security, scalability, reliability and performance of the Payment and Marketplace API’s.
- Serves as a subject matter expert and onsite liaison on the projects involved
- Participate in sprint releases with close to zero tolerance on delivery slippages.
- Able to quickly understand the business domain for dotcom and retail channels
- Proactively monitor, identify, isolate and resolve problems to avoid impact on the business
- Ensure all teams related incident tickets are handled appropriately within the SLA’s
We're excited about you if you have:
- 6+ years hands-on experience in planning, designing, developing and delivering enterprise solutions with excellent debug and troubleshooting skills
- 6+ years strong experience with Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot frameworks and other web related technologies
- 6+ years first-hand experience in designing, deploying and managing RESTful using JSON message structures and Graphl QL based integration
- 4+ years hands-on experience with designing cloud-based applications using micro services architecture and best practices preferably on MS Azure cloud platform
- 5+ years hands-on experience with release planning, runbook documentation, performance test results analysis & fixes, phased rollout strategies
- Hands-on experience with Full stack development, Istio service mesh, Feign client for third party calls, service discovery, Prometheus and Azure logging
- Experience in Implementation of monitoring and alerts dashboards using Splunk, Nagios and Dynatrace
- Hands-on experience with queueing and streaming solutions such as Kafka, Redis cache, Coherence, etc
- Hands-on experience with My SQL, MS SQL and any other No SQL databases
- Experience leveraging AI-powered tools, LLMs, or automation frameworks to improve efficiency or problem-solving
- Experience working in the retail industry with a large-scale enterprise organization, ecommerce, marketing and self-serviceable applications will be a plus
- Ability to identify performance bottlenecks and use good coding standards and design patterns to avoid them in the first place
- Ability to work in a fast-paced (startup like) agile development environment
- Collaborative and be able to foster good working relationships with peers and other colleagues
- Highly self-motivated, independent, efficient and work under pressure with a solid sense for setting priorities
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Friendly, articulate, and be able to work in a fun, small team environment
The annual base salary range for this position is $150,930.00 - $167,700.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
