Your role as a Senior Engineer on the Client Engineering team at Sephora will include a strong focus on Microsoft 365 (M365) and scripting, scaling competencies within the team, as well as the following responsibilities:

  • Design, build, implement, and support new features and enhance existing ones
  • Partner with Business Analyst, Business & Technical Stakeholders, Architect, and / or fellow engineers to determine the best way to meet business requirements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve L3+ production issues related to M365 platform, integrations, and other Client Engineering supported tools
  • Proactively monitor and improve technical performance, supportability, security, and stability of M365 platform / solutions
  • Review tasks critically and ensure they are sized appropriately for continuous integration and incremental delivery, prioritized properly, and have dependencies noted.  
  • Participate in technical discussions with fellow engineers
  • Review Code for others on the teams and provide thoughtful feedback
  • Participate in on-call rotation for production support of all enterprise users (Retail, Corporate, Supply Chain)

 

Experience:

  • 5-7 years as a software engineer or developer.
    • 7-10 years of total experience, including at least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in software engineering with demonstrated proficiency in project management, system design, coding standards, testing, quality assurance, and other related areas.
  • Microsoft Technologies (Advanced or above understanding):
    • M365 Platform: Microsoft Teams, Office, SharePoint, Exchange, PowerBI.
    • Security & Management Tools: Azure AD, Active Directory, Group Policy, InTune, Microsoft Configuration Manager.
    • Expert Level in Scripting: PowerShell, Python.
  • OS & Application Management: Windows/macOS/iOS/Android.
  • Quality & Testing: Writing production-ready code, understanding the testing pyramid, debugging, observability.
  • Software Design & Architecture: Understanding team's domain, aligned code design, utilizing abstractions, and code isolation effectively.
  • Security: Approaching all engineering work with a security lens, actively looking for vulnerabilities.
  • Delivery & Self-Organization: Ensures commitments are realistic, understands priority and urgency, and delivers upon them accordingly. Anticipates and communicates blockers, delays, and cost ballooning  before they require escalation. Ensures expectations within their team are clarified between all parties involved. Handles risk, change, and uncertainty within their personal scope of work effectively. Decides and acts responsibly without having the total picture during routine business and when in high pressure situations.
  • Feedback, Communication, Collaboration: Communicates effectively, clearly, concisely in written and verbal form both technical and non technical subjects, and in an audience-oriented way. Actively listens to others and ensures they are understood. Pays attention to nonverbal communication.
  • Strategic Impact: Understanding of business acumen, strategy, product thinking.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology and / or equivalent experience.

The annual base salary range for this position is $146,880.00 - $163,200.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.  Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.  Sephora offers a generous benefits package to full-time employees, which includes comprehensive health, dental and vision plans; a superior 401(k) plan, various paid time off programs; employee discount/perks; life insurance; disability insurance; flexible spending accounts; and an employee referral bonus program.
