The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Director, Inbound Transportation & Customs Compliance, the Manager, Inbound Operations is responsible for managing International & Domestic Inbound operations and Kohls Transfer operations. This includes supporting pick up activities from vendors, overseeing deliveries to Sephora DC’s and working with our logistics partners in the day to day operations. This individual will provide tactical and strategic support in areas of exception management, reporting and metrics, and analyses as needed.  The Manager, Inbound Operations works closely with internal and external business partners to improve processes, reduce costs and increase/improve service offerings, while managing a team to support daily operations.  This position will be an integral part of developing key metrics and dashboards for continuous improvements. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Manage and support Domestic & International Inbound daily operations; pick up to delivery
  • Manage International Freight Forwarders to meet operational needs, PO timelines, and support DC deliveries;
  • Manage International Vendors, Suppliers and Service Providers on operational requirements;
  • Manage consolidation 3PLs for freight management, delivery to Sephora DCs and transfer to Kohls;
  • Serve as main Point of Contact for Kohls and S@K Teams;
  • Work with Team and Sephora I.T. and MercuryGate for TMS operations;
  • Oversee a team by defining tasks, including, but not limited to: shipment approvals, PO tracking, data entry, preparing paperwork for Kohls freight, working in Kohls’ TMS;
  • Implement and manage SOPs internally and externally for both Sephora and Kohls Operations;
  • Identify areas for operational improvement and cost saving opportunities;
  • Demonstrate decision making skills to resolve day to day operational issues;
  • Measure and support carrier key performance indicators (KPI’s) to ensure logistics performance, timely transit, and operational service to support Business requirements;
  • Manage cost and performance reporting;
  • Work closely with internal & external business partners to support overall goals for Sephora;
  • Provide analyses to maximize international consolidation, volume and costs with Planners for cost and inventory optimization;
  • Process carrier freight claims from research and settlement;
  • Support Director on initiatives as needed
  • Ensure compliance with IMDG, IATA and DOT regulations;
  • Travel Required < 20%

 

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Previous experience in working with a transportation system and/or ability to quickly develop a proficiency in such systems.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage a team and assign tasks to support the operations effectively
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrate initiative, problem solving and tactical skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with high sense of urgency, manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent customer service and analytical skills
  • Ability to understand other functions of the business as the apply to the function
  • Proven ability to produce results efficiently and effectively in a fast paced, high stress, deadline driven work environment
  • Ability to document and streamline processes and present opportunities for continued efficiencies and cost savings
  • Process management and organization

Minimum qualifications

  • Logistics or BA/BS degree strongly preferred
  • Preferred 5-7 years analytical experience working in Logistics and Forwarding management
  • Previous experience with distribution centers and foreign suppliers and providers
  • Previous experience or ability to quickly develop proficiency with transportation systems
  • Project leadership experience
  • Logistics systems user experience (TMS, WMS, Freight Optimization, Load Planning) preferred

The annual base salary range for this position is $111,690.00 - $124,830.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.  Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.  Sephora offers a generous benefits package to full-time employees, which includes comprehensive health, dental and vision plans; a superior 401(k) plan, various paid time off programs; employee discount/perks; life insurance; disability insurance; flexible spending accounts; and an employee referral bonus program.
