The opportunity:
The Regional Business Controller will be reporting to Director – Finance, SEA, working closely with country general managers and multi-functional teams in formulating regional business plans (business cases, competitive analysis, P&L models, market studies) driving budget forecasts and revisions, as well as business development initiatives (retail expansion, wholesale, cross-border, marketplaces).
You will play a key role in advising country general managers and finance teams on strategic, commercial, and operational topics. Additionally, you will act as principal analyst for target setting, financial models, budgets, and forecasts for new initiatives, keeping a rolling forecast and ensuring cross-country and cross-functional alignment and adherence to regional and global long-term priorities, as a trusted advisor to the business.

Monitor country financials and key metrics on a timely basis. Proactively stress-test financial plans for multiple scenarios to assess risk to budget and long-term strategic plan. Work with cross-functional set of senior stakeholders on risk mitigation strategies.

In partnership with regional and country teams, create annual promotional budget and forecasts to deliver business objectives. Ensure promotional plan reckons with competitive landscape, long-term strategic goals, brand positioning and profitability thresholds.

Build scenario models to optimise promotional plans, managing changing promotional priorities with a solution mindset. Conduct quantitative analysis to anticipate risks and opportunities and provide insights on the effectiveness of promotional initiatives with a focus on incrementality and profitability.

Together with the Category Management team co-lead the tracking and review of the Gross Margin.

Lead coordination, consolidation and analysis of weekly and monthly regional sales and commercial activation updates to regional and global teams, with focus on risks, opportunities, and insights to action. Be the voice of the country teams in regional and global presentations. Present business reviews up to CEO level.

Participate directly in senior leadership meetings. Provide senior leaders leverage in decision making by assisting with information gathering, being a connector between different parties, monitoring plans, keeping track of responsibilities, and so on. Anticipate needs from the team and identify opportunities to create and streamline processes and systems.

Manage special projects assigned by the Finance Director and COO. Provide strategic guidance to consultants, project managers, ensure project teams observe strategic priorities and deliver on time with high quality. Communicate, influence, and facilitate decision-making within senior leadership team.

Carry out studies and ad hoc business performance analysis and summary notes according to leadership requests

Degree in Business, Finance, or related field and at least 8 years’ experience in business analysis and controlling

Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment with a proven track record for delivering results on large cross-functional initiatives.

Able to work independently in a fast-paced business environment and complex organisation. Hands-on, resourceful, go-getter attitude, ready to roll up sleeves, and dive deep into the business.

Track record of dealing with ambiguity, getting up to speed and adding immediate value to new situations.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Experience using large complex data to design models and scenarios, test assumptions, and uncover insights, risks, and opportunities. Advanced knowledge of Excel, SQL a plus.

Excellent presentation skills, including slide deck creation. Ability to simplify complex topics and communicate across diverse teams, from technical and commercial to senior management.

Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in writing and verbally. Ability to influence without authority to drive actions and enable excellent execution across multi-functional teams.

Proven ability to resolve complex business challenges and can formulate effective solutions to improve business results. Track record in streamlining sales related processes, and project management skills to ensure that internal and external milestones and processes run smoothly.
