As a Senior ER Manager, you will, leads all aspects of the strategic elements of the Employee Relations landscape at Sephora Canada. The role will strategically evaluate and provide direction to the organization with a focus on driving ownership and accountability towards an outstanding employee experience.
You will be skilled in workplace mediation, negotiations, conflict resolution, and leading investigations into difficult or critical matters. Working alongside the People Community, you will provide experienced advice rooted in Sephora’s organizational direction, efficient process management, and relationship elevation among our employees. You will lead complex performance management issues, complaints and grievances and employee terminations, create and maintain HR policies and provides sound advice to ensure their consistent application for fairness and equity in the organization and reports on HR performance. You will provide direction and expertise to management on difficult, complex or precedent-setting cases.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
General:
- Implement strategies related to Employee Relations
- Find opportunities and streamline processes in a labour relations environment
- Act as an integral member of the negotiation team, assisting in strategy preparations, collective agreement language review, and documentation
- Lead investigation into grievances, offering guidance on collective agreement interpretation
- Lead, termination cases, complex employee relations matters, and negotiations
- Provide advice to the HR team, ensuring consistent application of collective agreement and policy requirements
- Prepare strategic updates for executive management on various labour and employee relations issues
- Build and maintain expertise on working, trends, legislation, labour relations literature, and participating in various cross functional taskforces
- Conduct business assessments to identify employee relations trends with accountability to action by field leaders
Policy Review and Development:
- Developing new policies and revise existing policies
- Identify policy requirements based on HR legislation changes and organizational needs
- Carry out research, collaborating with management, non-represented staff and union representatives to ensure that partner opinions and operational requirements are taken into account
- Conduct research, confer with partners, and prepare written draft HR policies
- Educate managers and the HR community on the collective agreement and policy application
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Degree in the field of Human Resource Management
- 3-5 year of experience with policy and process development
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- 2-3 years of experience in providing analytical support and data presentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, databases, and data analysis
- Well organized with ability to balance multiple priorities within a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
- Ability to maintain a high level of integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information
- Ability to travel and visit the retail store environment on a regular basis – up to 50%
- Adaptable, team-oriented and able to lead and influence others

- Fluent verbal and written communication in French is highly preferred
