WHAT YOU'LL DO:

As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will support the Manager in all financial areas regarding forecasting/budgeting, analytics, and reporting for the Canadian finance team. You will provide financial reporting, planning, and analysis to support omni-channel operating and functional areas at Sephora. You will excel in establishing effective working relationships with business partners in Canada and the US and will be responsible for presenting findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.  Your strong passion for quantitative analysis and working cross-functionally will drive you in establishing new and innovative ways to improve business processes and tools. Key responsibilities include:

  • Full ownership of technically complex P&L and financial statement areas, including understanding risks, reforecasting, managing profitability, long-term strategic planning, and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • For assigned P&L areas, own all key financial processes (budget, reforecasts, month-end close) with the objective to build a solid and compelling plan that meets expectations.  Ensure ongoing forecasts incorporate trends and relevant information.
  • Prepare analysis and reporting for different target audiences that include both financial and non-financial content, including recurring financial results, forecast presentations, and ad-hoc business case including recommendations.
  • Support the monthly close process including preparation of variance reports and analysis with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ownership of ad-hoc projects and analysis to support business decision making and mitigate risks.
  • Manage continuously competing priorities while maintaining composure and the highest degree of professionalism.
  • Partner with key stakeholders cross functionally and cross-border, to solve problems, ensure successful financial performance, challenge the status quo, and appropriately communicate risks.
  • Acquire and maintain thorough understanding of the strategies, business issues, risks and profitability opportunities.
  • Provide ad hoc support and analysis, inclusive of strategic findings and recommendations, to Finance and Operations organizations to drive decision making for the leadership team.
  • Develop and implement improvements to business processes and tools. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business highly preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related FP&A or financial reporting experience; Retail or CPG industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization including non-finance teams and the executive level.
  • Experience in owning the full budget cycle, from establishing targets/goals to socialization to business partners, preferably in a retail environment
  • Strong prioritization skills; proven ability to be successful in a fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment.
  • Demonstrated success in critical thinking and decision making; understanding when to seek assistance/guidance.
  • A proactive, highly motivated, innovative, and analytical approach who is not afraid to challenge the status quo.
  • Advanced expertise Excel and Financial Systems, strong modelling skills, and a high degree of comfort with financial systems, preferably SAP Business Objects.
  • Experience with complex accounting principles and financial statements.
