WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Sephora Canada has a clear set of strategic priorities – all aimed at delivering a superb experience for our clients.  Different parts of the company, whether it's merchandise planning, merchandising, ecommerce, marketing, logistics, or operations, they all play a key role in developing and executing our strategy.  This role is unique in that it spans the full breadth of the business.  It plays a pivotal role in collaborating with functional leaders on how to better align their business strategies with the overall enterprise strategy and to balance both the short-term tactical needs with the longer-term objectives

 

As the Director, Strategic Projects and Business Insights, you will be responsible for partnering with the VP, Finance and Strategy to drive key strategies for Sephora Canada that delivers strong financial and operational performance. You will focus on leading key cross-functional projects within the business to ensure continued growth and profitability. This includes:

 

  • Lead project management, helping to prioritize overall project portfolio and providing executive oversight to project leads
  • Support in-depth corporate analysis to draw meaningful learnings and measure the ROI on existing initiatives, market share, and competition, and use this information to develop an overall roadmap and support with prioritizing activities
  • Develop materials to communicate strategy internally and externally (e.g. Monthly Business Reviews, Strategic Plans, Executive Reporting, etc.)
  • Oversee the overall testing process, lead and foster the “test & learn” culture change across the organization
  • Provide ad hoc business and competitive intelligence and insights for key senior executives.
  • Collaborate with several functions within the business to oversee the execution and analysis of key cross-functional initiatives

 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Undergraduate degree in business, MBA, CPA, CBV or advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 8-10 years of related experience; Retail experience preferred
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and motivate individuals across all levels of the organization. Gain quick credibility, commitment, and trust from all levels of the organization
  • Ability to communicate and articulate complex ideas and present them to the executive team
  • Strong analytic and financial modeling skills, with a deep understanding of how to link strategy to financial plans and analysis
  • Proven track record of success in shaping and influencing an organization's strategic agenda and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to be successful in a fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment
  • Experience working with and aligning a broad range of stakeholders on a strategic goal
  • High degree of initiative, sense of urgency, and someone who is not afraid to challenge the status quo
  • Understanding of NPD market share reporting an asset
