WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As the Manager, Total Rewards you will be at the forefront of managing the Total Rewards programs for Sephora Canada.  As the business continues to grow, and we look to improve our employee experience, you will also be a key contributor to the building and evolving the Total Rewards strategy. Your role will directly impact our rewards offering in stores and corporate offices nationally. Your scope will include managing base compensation, incentive plan design, annual salary planning, benefits plan design, and retirement and disability plan management. You are not afraid to challenge the status quo and look at existing programs with an innovative approach to continuously enhance and re-imagine the Sephora employee narrative.

 

Total Rewards (Design, Execution, Communication) 30%

  • Design and execute all Total Rewards programs while reinforcing the company’s philosophy and ensuring compliance and management of legislative changes
  • Maintain expertise and continual assessment and research of market trends and recommend considerations for change to current programs by building business cases and calculating the impact on budgets
  • Work in collaboration with various functional groups (HR, Marketing, Communications, External Vendors, etc.) to communicate, promote and ensure awareness of our holistic Total Rewards offering for optimal value creation
  • Lead the annual budget submission process and manage any other project-specific initiatives related to Total Rewards programs

 

Compensation 30%

  • Partner cross-functionally to manage and administer base pay and incentive pay programs
  • Maintain compensation foundation elements like pay structures, merit guidelines, pay guidelines, plan documents and update them as needed
  • Prepare compensation recommendations for new positions and promotions supported by internal equity and pay guidelines and external competitive benchmarks
  • Manage all aspects of the market intelligence process, which includes participating in market research surveys, gathering data, validating it, conducting analysis and building business cases
  • Lead the annual compensation review cycle, analyze and present to functional leaders’ compensation themes and pay gaps for their respective teams

 

Benefits 40%

  • Provide expertise in managing the benefits program with a specific focus around stabilizing and controlling benefits costs.
  • Analyze and deliver reporting and cost projections to support the recommendation of benefit plan changes, adding new benefits and ensuring program governance 
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with benefit and compensation vendors, consultants, and third-party administrators to ensure they comply with contract terms and conditions and leverage them to continue to offer high-quality programs and maintain market competitiveness
  • Create a framework for developing programs and practices to ensure administrative excellence of benefits operations, including oversight of benefit programs administration and compliance
  • Lead the quarterly review for health and group insurance plans, annual open enrollment, which includes the evaluation of costs, annual budget submission process, benefits audit etc.
  • Design comprehensive wellness and purpose-driven strategy and be the change ambassador to bring it to life

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • A relevant degree/diploma in Human Resources Management or Business Administration; certified Compensation and/or Benefits Professional (CCP/CBP), considered an asset
  • 5-7 years of post-university relevant work experience; with a minimum of 3 years’ experience administering Group Benefits and Retirement plans
  • A strong passion and purpose for enhancing the employee experience and redefining industry standards
  • You are a master collaborator with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to champion internal initiatives across the organization
  • You are excited by building programs from the ground up with limitless creative thinking/innovation and bringing it to life
  • You are unafraid of ambiguity and able to pivot as needed and can juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • You are thorough and analytical, with the ability to build business cases, draw meaningful findings from large data and develop actions with impactful results by utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
