ABOUT THE ROLE:

Are you passionate about regulatory compliance and eager to make a difference? As the Assistant Manager, Regulatory Compliance, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our operations meet the standards set by Health Canada, Environment Canada, and Transport Canada. You'll be the go-to expert for both internal and external partners, providing timely and accurate compliance support. Your key responsibilities will include keeping our Compliance Leadership informed of any non-compliances, gathering and presenting data for regulators, and maintaining the integrity of our compliance program. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Support with the development and implementation of comprehensive compliance programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and government guidelines
  • Stay up to date with federal, provincial, and municipal laws, regulations, and standards relevant to various government departments
  • Communicate to internal and external partners non-compliances and ensure remediation as per company policy
  • Maintain concise tracking and reporting compliance metrics, incidents, and remediation actions for senior management and relevant authorities
  • Prepare comprehensive compliance reports and documentation to support Compliance leadership in demonstrating adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Ability to analyze large data sets and derive insights to drive a continuous improvement mindset to optimize processes
  • Responsible for producing and summarizing various daily, weekly, and monthly reports
  • Manage and maintain US run SKU assortment to ensure compliance for import into Canada, update database and attributes accordingly
  • Regularly review omni SKU assortment databases for compliance integrity
  • Monitor compliance activities, identify and address issues, and conduct regular audits to evaluate program effectiveness, minimize risk, recommend improvements, and ensure adherence to guidelines
  • Provide support to merchandising and brands for new vendor onboarding as it pertains to compliance requirements
  • Support the development, implementation, and documentation of essential processes within the department

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • 3-5 years of regulatory compliance experience
  • Strong understanding of compliance principles, frameworks, and risk management concepts, along with familiarity with the latest compliance-related technologies to keep us ahead of the curve
  • You excel at prioritizing and performing tasks with precision, ensuring smooth and efficient operations
  • Great at expressing yourself clearly and creatively, in writing, conversation, and presentations, conveying complex compliance concepts in a clear and concise manner
  • You are tech-savvy and proficient in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills
  • You are curious, a go-getter and love tackling problems using your analytical skills to find solutions
  • You have an eye for detail and have mastered maintaining a high level of integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information
  • You are adaptable, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and relish in working collaboratively with cross-functional partners to drive shared success
