ABOUT THE ROLE:

Do you want the opportunity to make a positive impact as an Employee Relations Partner at Sephora? Join our team, where you will lead investigations for the assigned regional market and provide support on key initiatives linked to the employee experience. You will have the flexibility to think creatively and out of the box on process efficiencies and initiatives involving our employees and leaders. Dive deep into our people and culture strategies, while playing a key role in continually enhancing Sephora Canada's position as a great place to work!

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Employee Relations:

  • Ensure employee relations (ER) issues are addressed in accordance with employment laws and Sephora's core values to drive engagement and protect our brand
  • Explore and resolve complex or sensitive employee complaints, issues, and concerns with cross-functional partnerships and retail business leaders
  • Develop, communicate, and implement effective management practices and employee relations programs, policies, and procedures
  • Use data to identify trends and develop proactive strategies to foster positive employee relations
  • Re-imagine and define how we address performance concerns and terminations by looking at principles, people, and processes
  • Provide advice and guidance to leaders and managers on a broad range of serious/complex ER issues (e.g. performance management, attendance management, policy interpretation)
  • Enhance overall culture and drive proactive employee relations and engagement, including in-person visits, climate surveys, and listening sessions

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Ensure proper documentation, adherence, and updates aligned to organizational policies and procedures in relation to HR policies
  • Document cases, write investigation summaries, and leverage case management tool
  • Conduct workplace investigations as needed and maintain accurate records

People and Culture:

  • Mentor and foster a work environment that embodies Sephora's values while communicating strategic direction to People Partners, Leaders, and Sephora overall
  • Champion our culture and values to bring them to life as you collaborate with colleagues, and identify and implement new guidelines and/or learning programs across the organization
  • Build and develop relationships with retail leaders, People team partners, and Loss Prevention while acting as a people and culture champion and change agent
  • Lead and support evolving initiatives to amplify the ER function in Canada (e.g. case management solution, metrics and data analysis)

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • You have progressive HR/ER experience preferably in the retail industry, with a minimum 2-3 years of direct ER experience in a high-growth environment – prior LR experience is preferred
  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree – a Human Resources certification such as a CHRP/CPHR is preferred
  • You relish in working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with a willingness to coach, counsel and build strong partnerships – prior experience with interacting, coaching, and influencing leaders is preferred
  • You have working knowledge of employment law, compliance, employee relations with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • You have prior experience balancing multiple challenging cases; experience with ER case management systems would be considered helpful
  • You have exceptional issue resolution skills which you maneuver through ambiguity, adapting to changing priorities with excellent judgement while supporting employee investigations, ensuring internal/external compliance requirements are met
  • You’ve mastered critical thinking and can anticipate issues before they arise, suggesting solutions to cross-functional teams and partners
  • You’re technically savvy and computer proficient – you have a keen eye for reviewing and interpreting data reports in Excel
  • Great at expressing yourself clearly and with integrity - fluently bilingual in both English and French (written and spoken)
  • You're game for travel! - up to 25% travel required to stores in your region
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a car
