ABOUT THE RETAIL OPERATIONS TEAM:

We make it look easy, but it takes a lot of work behind the scenes to create the legendary Sephora Canada client experience. Our dedicated Retail Operations team has a finger on the pulse of store operations and is up to the task. The team oversees store systems and communications, digital tools and workload planning, all with a goal of helping our in-store teams deliver the best possible experience to our clients. We can’t do it without you!

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

As the Senior Manager, Retail Operations you will be responsible for the overall strategy of backstage retail operations and the management of the District Operations Manager Team. You will be the primary contact between our stores and other areas of the business and will lead and support with new project implementation and IT systems by delivering the highest level of training, planning and communications. 

 

Process, Policy & New System Implementation

  • Implement, Maintain & Improve various store processes, systems and policies. Provide training and technical direction to Store and Field Teams on new processes.
  • Maintain operations training programs to develop skills for Store Directors to Operations Consultants.
  • Work in conjunction with US Partners on all Operational Efficiency Projects (Power our Productivity - POP).
  • Provide training to all levels and function of stores on the use and practice of LEAN methodology and tools. Help deliver significant and quantifiable financial benefits across all aspects of store operations by monitoring results and applications of new processes.
  • Evaluate and improve efficiency by analyzing store processes and backstage layouts.
  • Represent Retail Operations in strategic cross-functional projects, being the voice of the stores. Assist departments in the development of new programs, policies and systems implemented in stores.
  • Analyze P&L to develop strategies to improve controllable expense management (Payroll, Supplies, Testers, Damages, Returns) and drive Shop Profit Results.
  • Responds appropriately to the needs of the business and is agile with implementing strategies in short timelines.

 

Team Management & Strategy Development

  • Lead 7+ District Operations Managers to drive organizational operational policies and company initiatives.
  • Inspire and develop a high performing team, through guidance, coaching and mentoring the team.
  • Develop annual District Operations Managers Strategy in conjunction with Director, Retail Operations & VP, Stores.
  • Visit stores and provide recommendations for operational improvements.
  • Work in conjunction with District Managers, District Operations Managers and Regional Directors on identifying store specific operations concerns.
  • Promote a team culture of development, feedback and organizational values.
  • Develop improvement strategies in conjunction with District Operations Manager and Field Leadership.

 

New Store Opening

  • Lead the New Store Opening Process for all Canadian Stores (liaison with US)
  • Work with various cross-functional departments to develop the annual new store opening strategy.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the US Real Estate & Property Development Teams on all New Store Openings, Relocations, Expansions and Remodels.
  • Design backstage MAP in conjunction with US Store Design Team

 

Store Maintenance & Hotline Online

  • Manage Repairs & Maintenance Relationship with the US Facilities Team
  • Manage the 3rd Party Cleaning Program for applicable Canadian Stores.

 

Various Operations Strategy Development & Project

  • Develop and implement various strategies based on Annual Company Pillars & Objectives
  • Lead other assigned projects to drive organizational results through retail stores.
  • Maintain a consistent relationship with Field Partners & Stores on store processes to receive feedback on potential process improvement.
