ABOUT THE SUPPLY CHAIN TEAM:

Clients can’t wait to get their hands on our fantastic products. It’s one thing to promise beauty. It’s a whole other thing to deliver it. That’s where our Supply Chain department comes in. It takes planning, analysis and strategy to build brand partnerships, accurately forecast client behaviour and manage inventory levels across our network. Inventory Managers collaborate with operations and logistic experts to deliver beauty to our clients across the country. Our energetic and innovative team continually improves speed and accuracy to deliver on our promise to our clients.

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

As the Manager, Transportation, you are responsible for supporting all store delivery operations, including managing direct outbound carrier relationships, 3PL relationships, inbound vendor shipments, return to vendors process and transfers. You will manage operational programs and initiatives and work closely with internal and external business partners to ensure service and delivery requirements are met while optimizing cost. You will collaborate across several departments to leverage best practices, optimize resources, manage core relationships, identify trends, and continuously improve the Transportation Operation. Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Coach and develop a team of one.  
  • Accountable for managing carrier network relations, planning and operations within the Canadian network – B2C (ecommerce) & B2B (retail)
  • Compile and analyze current and historical transportation data to monitor trends, provide management visibility, and drive operational improvement plans to reduce costs and improve service
  • Work with the Account/Terminal Managers to standardize processes and procedures to ensure operational consistency
  • Main point of contact for 3PL warehouse escalations and operations as it pertains to outbound store deliveries and inbound transfers
  • Support the 3PL warehouse Operations Teams with resolving service failures and implementing processes for continuous improvement
  • Deliver monthly analytical review of transportation dashboard required for decision-making about departmental direction and plans
  • Maintain Business Continuity Plans for functional areas
  • Assist with contract negotiations for service and cost solutions with providers
  • Solicit and measure client feedback and respond by providing solutions that drive business results
  • Drive operational performance of carriers by establishing clear expectations, frequently reviewing performance, anticipating challenges, and holding teams accountable
  • Meet or exceed all customer, technical, dashboard and operational performance/quality standards
  • Leverage professional partnerships (internal & external) to enhance cross-functional work-flow, decision-making, and collaboration
  • Conduct regular carrier touch bases and quarterly reviews to review challenges, opportunities and action plans for continuous improvement
  • Coordination Functions:
  • Oversee the escalations and resolution of day to day operational issues
  • Measure and support carrier key performance indicators (KPI’s) for quality logistics performance, timely transit, and operational service
  • Create and maintain effective tools/processes to manage progress and keep track of poor service performance
  • Build and maintain relationships with service providers and stores to support daily operations for all outbound shipments.
  • Main point of contact for retail operations, allocation team buyers and DC shipping operations
  • Routing optimization to determine best cost/service equation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with service providers to enable selection of the optimal balance of service and cost.

 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • 5+ years of transportation experience with Carrier and Provider sourcing and procurement knowledge is a must.
  • Supply Chain Management and Logistics degree
  • Experience using logistics systems such as TMS, WMS, Freight Optimization, and Load Planning
  • You are a passionate go-getter who loves to exceed their own expectations
